Footwork and Targets classes form the foundation of the training system at Cutting Edge Fencing. Similar in concept to the types of fundamental skills training found in a boxing gym or martial arts dojo, work side by side on technical skills all under the supervision of an experienced senior athlete or coach. These classes are highly structured, fun, and engaging practice times. Newer fencers focus on skill acquisition and fundamental movement techniques, while more advanced students are working on more complex applications of distance, speed, and blade manipulation. Each class also includes warmup and movement literacy skills that are critical for fencers of all levels. What to Bring You'll need comfortable athletic clothing, your own fencing glove, fencing sabre, and fencing mask to participate in these classes. No other special equipment is needed! Class Objectives During the same class time, different skill levels will be working on different types of skills.
